Your eyes are wonderful instruments for seeing the world,

But they are also limited: visual acuity, visual field and color vision,

Knowledge about these tiny particles is relatively new.

The ancient Greeks already suspected that there had to be

a smaller particle, but it wasn't until the twentieth century that scientists

were able to examine and represent the atoms with greater precision.   

Perhaps you have already seen such a description:   

the image of an atomic nucleus in the center and tiny particles that surround it. 

These are called electrons and their number is different in each element, as you know.

The problem with such schematic representations is that we often see them just as a static quantity.

But the exact opposite happens:  These microscopic particles are faster  as lightning!
